... really- maybe 3 days after the original post, i added a comment, but i haven't read many of the other posts: aus's huge-lettered one creeped me out. east of eden is the bomb - it shocked me that it could have such an impact. i feel wierd saying anything at all about the end of the book, but really: the conversation between 'the girl' and 'the guy that thought he was bad' showed how love is supposed to happen - not offering 'medicine', but acknowledging the same faults and loving past them in each other. i loved it. it probably will change my life more than i expected.

YAY peter posted! I agree with you about the book... it is a really awesome book and I bet all of us are gonna have loads and loads of fun writing our term papers. something else... after doing my poetry analysis, which is about the fact that someday everything will come to an end... I started thinking.. didn't a couple of posts ago we talk about things coming to an end, and about the future? now that I think about it....... the year is ending... soon we're going to have to start preparing ourselves for the goodbyes and all that. Sigh...
