ok i guess this is where u want us to post tiff? ai ai i still need to get the hang of this thingy... anyways.. soo i dont really have a thesis statement per se.. more like an idea. im interesting in the whole idea of the original sin. like adam who committed the original sin and passed it down to his descendants, so cyrus condemned his descendants to a cursed life by leaving them an ill gotten inheritance. this inheritance of sin if you will, passes down to each generation. thats basically what i have right now... comments carps? input ppl? i need some work on this.. ai ai

I'm sorry I had to delete Jacque's post... but here goes her statement:

Timshel plays a major role in the novel, giving hope to all humanity and showing how everyone can have a choice of doing what is right and wrong, regardless of their sinful natures.

I guess I don't have a thesis statement either... but I've got a bunch of ideas that are eventually going to form one long "something." Anyway... here goes a couple of points:

- Some people believe that because of Adam and Eve's fall, we are inevitably bound to fall. And that's just the way it is...

- Some people believe that sins can be passed down through generations, through blood, etc... And are also inevitably bound to fall... and that's also simply how things happen.

- Because of the Bible’s different translations (American Standard Translation and the King James Version) some people have different interpretations of the part in Genesis where the Lord tells us what to do with sin. ~ This point is somewhat connected to the first two points.

- TIMSHEL (Hebrew word for ‘Thou mayest’): God gives us a choice of doing what is right or wrong, no matter the sins of the past generations, and no matter what their personal interpretation of the Bible is. A palavra de Deus é a última e é o que importa.

Yup… that's about "it." :)

okkkk...i guess i wont be left out then since i also do not have a thesis statement....so i guess the main thing i want to focus on for my paper is the idea of deception...if you look it every character in the book, the main characters...they all deceive, some of them, like cathy, do it for retarded reasons or bc they are freaky beasts...others like adam and in certain situations, like cal, deceive to protect the people they love...so i definitely want to do something with deception, bc i saw it so much throughout the book, i just dont know what i want my point to be you know? hehe, should come up with that sometime soon eh carps? ok...well...yea...bjosss, ang

kinda in contrast to ang's, i think i'll do something with Cal and his redemption - how he thinks he's all bad but Lee and Abra and even his dad believe in him in the end (sorry to ruin it for austin-home-run-buddy, but it's his fault for not reading....
so, yeah. redemption of the sinful, no matter how bad.

PS... don't forget to do your outlines for tomorry.
peace.

i think i'll call rebekah...

Tim...there is so much... (quote page 594 in my book.."I don`t want to do bad things-but i do them" )where are you headed for your conclusion...will you show how eventually this curse is broken...
Jacque....I like that....one of my favorite quotes is from page 584 of my book "And now that you don`t have to be perfect, you can be good."
Tiff...good thoughts...I love the quote on page 599 of my book.."Cal, listen to me. Can you think that whatever made us-would stop trying.." What hope and confidence theat gives us!!!
Ang...it is interesting to think about how the deception can be used for good or bad...kinda like our conversation in college prep about honesty...page 601 of my book refers to lee`s conversation with Adam and Lee says.."Your kindness may be meanness now, and your bleak honesty fretful and conniving..." interesting thought..
Peter...You have all your last 40 pages of annotations to keep you going and I can tell that you are living this story right now. Have fun!!!
